The two cabs
Hi
The early late readouts you see on the trp screen are measurements of how much of a horse used its energy this is something different than naming running styles A good horse can go wire to wire and show it uses it energy late A bad horse can and does often show a lead at the first two calls who fades and finishes 3 or worse with an early ranking Best tool for you to observe is look at good horses . Base your running style on how they ran when they win. Now either name the running style yourself or go by what the tpr screen shows. Use one or the other The two are not made to go together Story... Think about this .. lets say you are running a race in your cab around the block The first time your opponent is in an old broken down wreck, You can see right at the starting line you have this guy beat what do you do ? If it was me I would go just fast enough to get the lead I know I have the race won, why kill my engine You take off. The wreck is all out to stay with you he is using all his energy. Your a nice guy you have a heart and you want to keep his ego up, I doubt this happens with horses but it will help explain the concept. By saving your engine your using your energy less Now about 3/4 around the block the wreck is right behind you but at this point you open up and put the wreck away. Your all out to win and to kind of show the wreck that You are the champ .You used more energy in the late part of the race right ? You had the race. You were in front the whole way but when you got back to the gargage your on board computer readout said you used more energy late in the race than earlly It could care less were you were positionally Thats what the E/L graph is doing and the TPR numbers It does not matter what you call a running sytle. The readouts are based on ENERGY excertion hope this helps Bill V. Laredo Texas |

Great Analogy
Hi Bill,
The analogy you used to explain the E/L graph and the TPR numbers is excellent. Your post on this subject should become a sticky or at least required reading. I'm sure it will help a lot of people better understand those readouts. |
