So once again Tim I assume the #5 in the second race was moved up because the horses tiered atop had more defects than the #5?

Hi Mike. Either that or a % med that was too high or low, or in the case of the 4 it had a 10 bal too high to win or it had failures in recent races. Unfortunately I discarded my paper work so I can't give more info but be assured that I always have a valid reason[s] to upgrade or downgrade a horse.

You might keep those notes you throw away... might be gold nuggets in them papers. Great consistent handicapping. Got to love it. Don |

Thanks Don. Usually I don't get many questions and some times I don't even use my form.

Hi again LP. Ok %med refers to the amount of energy a horse expends from the start of the race to the 2nd call. IN the horses' pps if you click on the energy tab you will see the %med for each of the races in the pps. In general %meds below 67.0[too low] or 70.0[too high] don't win. If one keeps models[I do] by surface and dist based on your capping you will see that there is a define range that winners run. For example at Parx based on my capping the range is 67.4-70.0. For me to rank a horse as too early or late I require either 3 races showing below 67.0 or above 70.0. Most people don't keep models so they have no clue as to this info so many don't use it. As to balance horses with a bal over 8 rarely win[some turf races may nave a little] Hope that helps
Tim
