Some do it Right; some screw it up
Was looking at today's 11th at CRC, which led me to look at 2 charts, both from 10/26 at CRC, R5 and R11, as some of today's runners are coming out of these races.
The winner last out from R5 is coming back today, though from the chart, the only horse I'd want back is Speed and Heart, the 2nd finisher. I checked to see if he'd run back, and in fact he had, at CRC on 11/2 R6 where he ran 2nd at 4:1, after moving too soon, opening up, and getting run down late. Now, the jock blew that ride but the trainer ****ed up as well by stretching this horse out when the chart shows he'd probably be better suited for a cutback (or, at least, another one turn race) as he was last moved on 10/26
There are two I'd want back from R11: Craftsman, running today, who made a huge late move in a race that didn't come back; and Catalina Express, who made an early move, got the lead, and was outgamed for the win. Checking to see if he'd run back since, it turns out that he ran today, going 6F, and winning easily at 6:5. Now, HIS trainer is not retarded (obviously).
Not like I'd take 6:5 but I'd certainly want 4:1. Clear case of the trainer costing himself money.
Charts are attached.
