Yesterday at Belmont 3 Marathons

I did these yesterday but did not post as I was working against post time:

Info shown is best mile time and positions from that race:

Race 8 G1 Flower Bowl

1 - 137.3 positions 6-4-3
1a - 133.3 positions 1-1-1
2 - 137.2 1-1-2
3 - 134.2, 4-3-4
4 - 136.4, 4-3-5
5 - 137.3, 3-3-3
6 - 138.2, 7-4-2
7 - 136.0, 6-3-2
Not much to handicap here, the 1A held sway at odds on in a slow time.

Race 9 Joe Hirsch
1 - 134.4, 1-1-1
2 - 135.4, 4-5-4
2b - 132.8, 4-5-5
2x - 133.4, 1-1-3
3 no line
4 - 134.4, 6-5-4
5 - no line
6 - 134.1, 1-1-1
7 - 133.9, 3-2-1
Three horses needed the lead as shown from their best mile time and positions; the two best times won, the 7 Little Mike closing 3-2-1 and the 2b was 3rd - note that it closed against slower times in last two. #2 was 2nd

Little Mike paid 7.4/1

Race 10 Jockey Club gold Cup

1 - 135.3; 5-5-3
2 - 136.0, 16-5-2
3 - 135.3, 4-4-3
4 - 136.0 3-3-2
5 - 136.0 1-1-1
6 - 134.8, 2-2-1
7 - 134.8, 2-2-1
8 - 134.8, 1-1-1
I eliminated the 3 on class level concerns. The last 4 all needed to be on or near the lead from 6 furlong point on (and all with best mile times the same), the 2 comes from too far back, so that left me with the 1 and 4.

The finish went 1-7-6-4
The 4th best mile time won as a mid pack horse that could pass horses that got too involved early.

Regards,
