Old example races and exporting of RDSS data to Excel

I have a question concerning the 2010 example database for races.

Is there any reason to think that race data for races 15 years ago is not as accurate or reliable as races from say 2022 or 2023?
In other words has something changed in how the data was obtained or has racing in general ‘different’ from 15 years ago?

On the Export process, when using the 'Export' button in RDSS, what directory does RDSS put the export file?

Bob, re the old Example Database from 2010 - no I have no reason to believe the racing data from TrackMaster stored in that database is any less accurate than what you get currently in 2025. The source files from TrackMaster/Equibase are almost the same, nothing substantially different. Could you elaborate on your concern?

You don’t say which RDSS version you are using, but from your post in the General Section of the website, I’ll guess you are referring to the current public version.

Presuming so, and if you’re seeking an output file in CSV format, you can have RDSS generate one by making a sub-folder in the c:\Rdss22\Models folder named CSV. When RDSS finds such a folder, this is the instruction to the software to also create a copy of the exported XLSX Excel format data file and store it in CSV format in the CSV folder with the same file name and CSV extension. Then you can use the CSV file for whatever you wish.

If you were referring to a newer, testing version of RDSS - we're not quite ready to discuss that here, though there will soon be a major release of the software - RDSS Leverage/Pace - which adds significant new Modeling features to the software. Everyone stay tuned!

I hope this answers these questions. And welcome to P&C and RDSS!

Best wishes!

Ted
