You don't have to read this.
Some day, when I grow up, with half of my brain tied behind my back, maybe I'll be able to use my harness my abilities and put them on the track and straighten them out down the stretch and be first across the finish line if there is one.
This morning as I was going through the card at Belmont and listening to the prognosticators and pundits on the radio explaining how and who was the best trainer and best jockey for this style of race and which was the best bred horse with the best Beyer number and then going to another web site and reading about all of the individuals selections for win, I realized just how fortunate I am to have what is here. Pace and Cap has some of the worlds greatest handicappers as regular contributors and they are unselfish with their knowledge, all I have to do is ask. I have in my hands the worlds most copied handicapping programs. I even have something that others only dream about and that is Perceptor to help me choose the right pace line when all the copycats have is the DRF. I have a wagering strategy that is superior. Any of the Sartin like programs work from TPR numbers to Phase III on up to the present. With reasonable skill winning 60% plus betting two horses is pretty much standard. And if I feel we need to exceed that percentage then all I have to do is build some working track models. I need only to stop trying to find the holy grail and use what I have in front of me. Here are two of my weaknesses. First is my love of the Energy program and Ultra-Scan. I spend time working with them trying to get better and better understanding their readouts. I should instead only be working with RDSS since it is a whole lot easier to use and understand and gets the same horses in much less time. Second when wagering I always stick to the plan except like last night I was up considerably at Mnr and then all of a sudden I had lost 1/3 of my bankroll. I had thought I couldn't loose and was starting to bet larger and larger amounts and some trifectas when the law of averages suddenly caught up with me and slapped me across the wallet. All of the time I'd put in with careful handicapping and wagering to build things up was lost in just a few moments of ego and greed. Today is the beginning of the rest of my life. Froggy |
