flawed contests
We had our regional DRF contest here in August (I followed along, as an employee was not allowed to enter, but did reasonably well) BUT, one of these days one of the these affairs is going to reflect real world situations.
What differentiates one handicapper from another? The ability to evaluate and wager on contests, but just as strongly is understanding just WHERE to go to find the best return on their wagered dollar. Searching and discovering the best markets for you handicapping style is part of the game in the real world. A true evaluation of a handicapper's strengths would include their finding those markets and having that discovery be part and parcel of the outcome and NOT limiting the arena to the same races. |
