It was a typo. I forwarded this on to TrackMaster and Equibase.

Eagle Eyes, Mike!

Ted,

You might want to go back to the AUG 29 race and check your figures. The same error appears that day as well, and will continue to appear each time this horse runs.
It's ridiculous, but they have this horses first call time calculated on the error.
The leaders first call time, according to the chart, was 22.45.
Does it make any sense, that in a sprint race, the horse running second at that point could only run a 26.45???

PP's, from any source, are like branches on a tree....they all come from the same ROOT.
If one source of PP's has an error, then ALL sources have the same error.

I agree, the same error appears in the PPs of 'Goose' in its Aug 29 race. I forwarded the error and a link to this thread to TrackMaster and Equibase. In the past, they have responded to (and invite) corrections.

Hopefully it will be corrected before the next race for the Aug 22 Pen 8 runners.

I just got an email back from our old friend Ellis Starr at Equibase. He says the chart for that race has now been corrected and should show correctly the NEXT TIME it is generated or included in Past Performances.

(Note: It won't show correctly yet in RDSS for the chart for that Aug 22 race of Goose in the Sept 29 PEN race Mike mentions - but for the next set of PPs for any of those Aug 22 runners).

Thanks Ellis.

Although I don't use RDSS or the file that is associated with it, I'm going to watch for the file I download from Trackmaster and see if they correct it in ALL FILES or just the one they have set up for RDSS. I know there are SEVERAL things they need to correct, not just the number of lengths behind for the horses behind the leader.
Thanks for bringing it to their attention.

Good! Let us know if you notice anything incorrect.

Since it is Equibase doing the edit on their master database (not just TrackMaster, and thus not just RDSS) I expect all resellers of Equibase data (HDW, BRIS, DRF, TrackMaster, etc) to receive the corrected info for the next outing.
