Just got a Leason for not selecting the right pace lines
He picked the "ONLY" line available given today's distance and surface.

I know that it is a stretch going back this far and using a 6f turf race, but there are 2 routes between the last 2 sprints. Also if you look at the early-late graph for this horse he always shows late except for its last race.
I would pass up this kind of race normally but I know you have no choice in the pic4 contest.
Hope this helps
"comparable" doesn't mean "turf" is comparable to "dirt". It isn't. The only thing "comparable" between line 5 and line 1 is the distance.

Of course the horse always shows "late" except for its' last race. The last race is the only race on dirt.

Horses run faster "late" on turf than they do on dirt and that is the reason turf and dirt should not be mixed.

FTL, yes I realize that the 5th race was a turf race and is only comparable on distance, but the question was asked how could you get this horse as a contender.
Doc always warned us about using turf to dirt and vice versa. He said that if you did use a line like this one to check the speed ratings and make sure that it was at least 5 points better than the dirt sr ratings.
One thing I think you missed was that this race was part of a pic 4 sequence in a free contest. I would never consider playing this type of race for the exact same reasons that you stated above.
It is because of this type of questionable races that I personally do not like to enter contests. Some players do like this type of races because they are chaotic and will give a better chance for a higher payoff.
Each of us(I hope ) has found the type of races where we excel at and at least have the opportunity to supplement our incomes.

How Many Playable Races Can You Find ?

According to some of us, cheap horses in cheap races will not run back to their pace lines.
Looking at today's TUP card and if I agreed with this type of thinking and I
chose to be selective, chances are, I would have nothing to play at TUP.
The problem that I find is that most of the smaller tracks are offering these type of races or worse.
Here's a prime example. How many of these would you play?

parts

Parts, the card you put up is not that bad, I would only eliminate races 6&7 because one is a mdn and the other is a distance 5f that I do not get good results for. As for the rest I would have to see the pacelines for each of entries and then make up my mind.
I personally like fields of 8 or more entries. I usually find 3 to 5 playable races on a card like this and usually only play 3 or 4 of these.
My mistake race is 4.5f not 5f

Hi Richard,

I just did the first 3 and would be interested to see what you or anyone else comes up with. In 2 of these 3 races you will find it difficult to come up with more then 3 contenders.
