RDSS is like 'spin the bottle' ??!

This is crazy, I had the 16 on top, RDSS helped me get there with the 3 horse my other key.

The horse I did not have in the right place was the 4 horse.

Yet if I had reversed a few wagers, otherwise backwheeled this and that, I would have had a couple of 981.00 payouts, the exacta payout.

The Derby requires the right touch of expert wagering, once a horse or 2 has been found to be your key, this year mine was the 3 and 16, and yet I still was unable to wager properly. Someday maybe. Yet

The 4 was used a few times in the 1st. place spot, with my Keys, yet I forgot the 2nd spot, and if done it would have made me a winner instead of a 300 loser.

But RDSS did well, I did not. But I also used another program and it too was pretty good, as it put me on the pick 4.

You are absolutely right zimal.. Nice post. The Derby although everyone hopes to hit it and the prices can be Huge is largely a crap shoot most years. So many unknowns with young horses running a distance most will never ever run again in a Giant field just to name a few. Then add the slop and many other additional unknown elements. I truly love the Derby and this time of year particularly as many race fans do, but, besides being a one time opportunity (race), you have to leave it as just that IMHO, a one time opportunity. I hope that everyone nails the Preakness going forward. Go Orb! It could make things very exciting in the coming weeks.

Vinnie...here's an additonal thought. All the discussion including Beyer was about how the new point system eliminated sprinters so we should expect less pace pressure. What that leaves out is the thinking of the trainers. Years ago, I owned part of some horses (the tails) with a group who used Dean Pederson, very competent trainer at GGF. He was absolutely not a betting trainer but whenever I went to the backstretch to talk with him, he was looking at the DRF. Many trainers think pace as much as we do.
In my fantasy life, I imagine that a number of trainers said sloppy track or bad post or whatever...let's try to steal this race. Ergo, fast pace that sets it up for an Orb or other closer.
