deleting horses

Ted,

Any chance of moving or adding a column on the far right hand side of the hcp screens, to click on to delete horses?
With this small print it is hard to to be looking right at the information andcomparing, then running my eyes back to the left to delete, I've been known
to delete the wrong horse by accident, which has been quite costly.

thank you

Response to Bill L from the Bug List thread

2. I suppose one could even go further and adjust each raw data line for distance (much like the 'pacelines' upper screen in spec 160, but without any other adjustments). In keeping with Matchup guidelines the adjustments would be at 6-2/5ths per half furlong. This conceptually might add a screen between the "raw" and "adjusted" panels, but it would close the visual gap for those MATCHING the raw pacelines.

Bill
Responding to Bill's 'feature suggestion' in the other Bug List thread, if I understand you, you'd like to see distance equalized lines and raw lines in 2 separate panels stacked on top of each other in the main Analysis section, so you can see in one glimpse how extracted/projected lines compare to raw. Further, you would like the adjusted panel to be distance equalized only (and not ITV and DTV adjusted), and the distance equalization to be per Jim Bradshaw's 6.4 (tenths) per half-furlong method, rather than the Val/Spec variable table.

Did I get that right? I have a plan to update the existing Adjusted tab to show various flavours of adjusted, plus show the 4 call times as on the raw screen. (BTW, it would be on such a modified screen where Projected Pace should really go, because all the lines are at least distance equalized. Also Richie's composite paceline creation tool would go here)

Can I ask if anyone else would like to see, and can make a good case for, multiple stacked Analysis tabs where you can display any 2 tabs simultaneously, similarly to how you can do this with the Past Performance tabs. Please take a moment to give your reasoning (thanks Bill L.), as this would be a bit of work.

This would be aside from wanting to see an onscreen 'print-out' listing of PPs and preferred Analysis screens, in one big long scrollable and printable readout (which is coming). Rather, I'm referring here to another interactive collection of Analysis tabs.

Thanks,

Ted

Ted I recommend that you keep your existing Adjusted screen but convert the adjusted lines to Sprint calls rather the Routes (the way you have them now). The virtual adjustment of every line's call times to Sartin Downs racetrack makes a lot of sense and should be kept. I do not use myself Jim's Matchup, but for those who do perhaps different tabs can be devised to accommodate their MatchUp usage and kept separate from the screens that you have devised so far.

Ted: I think I took the question too far the first time. I think the first sentence of your reply captures what I was trying to convey, which was, a visual transition from raw pacelines to distance-adjusted pacelines on those occasions when mixed distance structure lines are being used. This would be the end result of what someone using MATCH UP techniques would be mentally calculating or writing down. Hopefully Richie will weigh in on this point because I value his input in this process, especially since it is his and HAT's subject matter.

On further review I would strike everything in your answer starting with ...(Further,...") because as I view it now that's a bit of overkill. (and also cause I don't want to kill the programmer.)

Hi Bill and Ted,
Just a couple of quick observations if I can:
1) I LOVE the program as it is now.

2) At some future time it would be cool to be able to have a 6.4(tenths) option to adjust per 1/2 furlong per Jim's teaching to me for the last 10 months. That freaking number just flat WORKS.

3) 99% of users are NOT going to be matching up horses in any way resembling what Jim does. Nor do they have to.

4) In the meantime ALL users might try NOT entering slow ass horses at the first call when there is a solid early horse that a projected pace can CONFIDENTLY be made from. Mmmm might be a spot play here especially when "slow ass horses" are gonna be HEAVILY bet at the windows.

Richie

Fwiw the first one working HARD on doing just that is ME. It is an amazing yet virtually totally overlooked area of the past performance line.

I KNOW there is MONEY here man. Now I just have to work my tail off to understand and EXPLOIT it.

color coding

Ted
When you put the printing feature in the program, will it print the colors on the first three in each category, like it shows up on the screen?

It would be great, because I have been using different colr pens to do that for years, it makes it a lot easier to pick things out at a glance, Just a suggestion for what it's worth'

When you finish the new conversion module, will it convert all the down loads automatically? This also would be a great time saver, especially if you want to look at a lot of cards for spot plays.

iLike the automatic download to both computers at 4 and 5 every morning, it saves time.

Thank you

Yes.

Yes, plus do the calculations for the races you select (i.e. instead of tapping your toes while the calculations are done each and every time you open a race). Plus a few other goodies if I can make them work (e.g. look for spot plays according to a collection of rules, compose a Custom Card of, say, dirt sprints only, Turf routes only, 3 Earlies, best M/L = 3/1, etc, etc).

Ted

That sounds great.

Have you ever talked to Jim Bradshaw about incorporating his match-up program,in RDSS. It's a greatprogram.
