so far MNR will pay half for my daughter wedding, in San Jose, CA, and surely a round of golf at Pebble Beach.

Make sure to vist the Del Monte Lodge on the 17 Mile drive there. Doubt if you can afford a round on that PRIVATE club unless you play with another member.

I worked a month in the ER at Fort Ord and visited the entire area: beautiful

You also paid for a big chunk of your trip to Italy last year along with some gifts from there one of which sits on my mantle in front of Mom!

Italy is out of the question this year. Wedding in october and I like to schedule my trip in Italy during the best times, April or Sept. when the water on the Bracciano lake is still warm and the tourists in Capri are a minority during those months.
Maybe a bottle of good California red will do the job.
