Sorry Rich. I forgot to add this question on the last post. Would you use an early line from a turf race in a dirt race or vice versa.

Both example races I used adjusted times. This is for software/adjusted data users. I have received 78 replies of interest in my newsletter so far. 62 of them said they were using adjusted data and software but wanted to incorporate some of Hat's teachings to help them. When I told Jim this he gave me a few things to think about. What you see here in this thread are the steps of some of those things he put in my head. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Regarding the early horse(s) it's kind of a race by race/horse by horse issue if that makes sense. Like the 2 horse in this last example race. he is off a long time BUT the both times he raced at Hoosier he went for the lead at 2 different sprint distances (5.5 and 6). To me it "looked right" to assume he is going to go for the lead today. I definitely agree with you about horses changing styles. If a horse 3 races back went to the front in a 22.4 and his last 2 races at same track/distance the 1st calls went in 23.1 /23.2 and he didn't go then I have a hard time calling this guy early TODAY and using that 3 back line to project from. Jim calls this "not getting on top of fractions he did before". Richie

Rich, if their were no early's in this race, how would you determine your projected times and pace setter.

1) PASS 2) Use fastest pace of race from last line at today's track/distance where horse ran competitive. "Competitive" is open for individual user interpretation. Richie

This race just ran 10 seconds ago.
The #7 went off at 4/5 man. Do you even sniff him here matching? Project off 45.4 on both the #1 and #8 and you can't find the chalk with a Ouija board The #10 is the winner at 11/1. The fav #7? he will get back to the barn eventually.
