Por/poh

Ted,
I notice on one of the screens by Richie P on 20 Jun 09 under Playing 5 Fur Races a toggle switch between por/poh.... I do not seem to have this ability on my program. Maybe you could help me on this.

Thank You
Mildeu

Just to finish up here are the same lines from that CD race now looked at from Pace of RACE.

As you see the winning #5 was 4th total energy pace of horse but ran against SECOND fastest pace of RACE total energy

ok

the previous screen shot was taken using a different setting (50V). I realized after I posted.

HERE is the screenshot from the race as I actually worked it using 100V

Winner still competed against 2nd fastest pace of RACE

Hi Richie,

My inquiry is not the function of the toggle switch, but the lack of the toggle switch on my version of RDSS Ver 0.98.6 04/26/09.

Thank You for your timely reply.

Mildeu,

Well that cat's out of the bag... Seriously, that alternate look at POR energy is something I've been tinkering with, but never found the most impactful way to portray, and I'm not sure the way you see it there is the best one. Of course, RDSS and all Sartin software calculate the POR versions of all the velocities and some compoundings - this just does not show up on the surface.

That switch is not available on your version (or anyone's, really). I am adding a number of (alternate) screens for an upcoming version and I want one which shows, as well as simple POR energies (Richie's image), the ratios, or gaps, of POR/POH energies, possibly in graph format. That would be similar to the older Vector Pace Graph from PaceLauncher or perhaps Synthesis. Doc's tendency was to simplify - and he exhorted me to heed that (he said ONE screen was all we needed: a mix of BL/VDC and E/L).

Let's see what I can work up, which does not cause more confusion than clarity. That said, I know Richie has given me feedback about how it helps to identify Fastest Pace Last Race (FPLR), and who ran against best POR 2nd call (for identifying pacelines for a Projected Pace matchup).

Something good will be in the next version.

Ted

Hi Ted,
Well answered, I had suspected that this was maybe an ongoing beta development program that Richie P. was working with, but having an inquisitive and need to know mind (well that sounds good anyway) you know what I mean.
