conditions question

Hi
This was a race today at Golden Gate
its for NW 2 life. These two horses seem to have already won this condition
Why can they still run today
The wording in the conditions is non winners of a maiden claimer AND starter
less than 2500 not counted

Hi Bill,

It's an easy answer. You just have to read the condition over again. The "sub condition" says, " maiden , claiming and starter races for $2,500 ARE NOT CONSIDERED", so here's what is not considered.
1 - maiden races
2 - claiming races
3 - starter races for $2,500 or less

I think where you made your mistake was in reading it as "maiden claiming" (one thing) rather maiden (comma) claiming. (two things)

Below I have posted an answer in response to Dorianmode's post. Take a look at the condition in the "CHART" of the race. It shows what this condition will look like in the PP's the next time the horses in this race run. The "X" always denotes a "sub condition". For an example, MNR runs races for non winners in 6 months, but they usually do NOT have a sub condition. It is a straight NW16M. However, when you look at these conditions at PEN, PRX TP and some other tracks, these races will have a sub condition, so it will look like NW16MX.

"SUMMARY" results do NOT show the conditions. Below are three looks at this race.

FTL & Bill, when I looked at this race without seeing the PPs for the other contenders I thought this race was written for these two horses. Both fit the conditions perfectly.
Correct me if I am wrong.
FTL keep up the good work , I enjoy learning more about the conditions and how to interpert them.
When you play a track like MNR , after a while you ( I ) become a little lax about reading all the conditions of the races.
This is why I enjoy your posts, they are a reality check, at least foe me.

Richard
Actually there was a third horse in the race with 2 wins
but I thought in this case this horse had won the less than 2500 Starter mentioned. but it no longer showed up in the PP's since it was more then 10 races ago

Bill

Bill, thanks.
Several authors over the years have written about race conditions and looking at the entries to see which ones fit the closests to these conditions.

I believe FTL has done a great job with his posts and has helped to remind us all that we need to pay attention to all the details.
Thanks FTL..
