Goals Survival

The 2011 Monmouth Park Survival Contest update
I am still alive after Sundays races there are 1277 players alive out of 5209 and I'm still in there. I'm way back in total wins by about $400.00 but still alive
I have entered this contest almost every year but never made it very far.
Maybe a week or so.
This year I tried a new stratagy I just set some smaller goals
This has helped me relax, in doing so I seem to have let any ability I have learned come out. Just seem to have fallen into a zone.

Anyway to review. The contest is they pick 3 races a day, All you need to do
is pick 1 horse in each of those 3 races that will either win place or show
and you only need 1 in the money horse to move on
It seems easy. Its not hard but its not that easy either. Stuff happens in horse racing but even with life lines lots of people are out quickly you get 1 life line

My goals for this years contest

1. Just go as long as you can , Try / Check
2. Make it to Haskell Day / Check
3. Make it to $400.00 in winnings / Check
4. Make it to PaceandCap day at Saratoga / Check*
5 Make it to $500.00 / ???
6 The BIG one - Survive to the end ?

* They only run at MTH Friday -Sunday so with my life lines I will be alive at least til Saturday

Bill - contest

Bill, congratulations on making it this far. I hope you make it all the way.
This is a gruesome contest and as you said it appears easy but to many times what we think is easy turns out to be quit difficult. Again I wish you success in this contest and in life. Keep us posted.

Hanging in there seems to be my thing these days.
I'm still in it as well.

Speaking for myself, if I am the "Bill" that you meant, I wish I could be there . Unfortunately, it is not an option for me this year. Hopefully, I will make it next year.

I'm sure it's going to be a fun event with a lot of nice people.
I hope everyone involved will have a great time.

Well Still

Today my choice in Race 6 I take Dimonds showed and paid
$4

After todays card there a now 994 survivors
So I made another step of being in the top 1000

My total is at $444.00 so I still have a way to go till my next goal
of $500.00

Both Saturday and Sundays cards are canceled cause of Irene

Will be back swinging next Friday
