Hi Rich-
I worked the Hollywood races for tonight and I liked this one... In looking at the early pace I focused on two horses: #1 fought for 2 calls then took the lead before tiring a bit to third place by 1 length vs a fast 22.0 44.2. Scanning down further I see it has won from third position and run a close second from 9th at the 1c. #12 is the only other early in the race. He fought for the lead in 22.1 but then lost position and lengths to a slow 45.3 second call! When he won he was on the lead vs 45.1 so that last race also looks like to me what you describe as "becoming a slow horse". My feel is that this one won't be able to push #1 for too long. Even if it does run faster tonight, #1 has shown the ability to win without the early lead. I'll take #1 Tribul Witch. |

Fplr
Thanks for putting this one up Richie. I picked the 11 here. Looking at the results, a few things hit me:
What I did right: I thought the pace would be slow without much speed. The 12 was there and the 1 had shown speed. The last race for the 1 was 6.5 furlongs so I discounted the fractions a bit. What I did wrong: FPLR. For the 3, if you don't like the 6.5 on the grass at SA, go back to the previous line on the poly. They are both FPLR. Against the probable pace of 22.2 45 and change, this horse had run well. Tim
