Preakness Entropy

Line selection = graded stakes races if possible within 1 furlong of today's distance = 9.5 furlongs

No Kentucky Derby lines were used - Doc's Guideline

Contender selections = The top 5 TPR horses and will include the top rated EPR and LPR horses if they are not within the top 5 tpr or within 5 points of the top
tpr horses

Here are the entries, weights and other factors

Thanks for your time in posting the readouts...Wow... Entropy and Validator....Oldies but Goodies....

California Chrome is no value at 3/5 odds and with the public sentiments for a Triple Crown contender. However, horse has some dominating pacelines....

The Derby has many speed figure services perplexed and stumped...Andrew Beyer included...Strong gust winds blowing into the stretch run and the two hours in between dirt races along with the frequencies of the watering trucks going around the track has many, questioning the Derby final time and speed figures.

California Chrome was a visually impressive Derby winner. The 2nd thru 6th place finishers from the Derby are no shows for the Preakness.

Bayern has some impressive workouts in the morning...This one takes off the blinkers and there are some questions whether this one will contest the early pace. This one was Baffert's top Derby horse this year.

Social Inclusion was nosed out of the starting gate for this year's Derby. Trainer has not put in any foundation workouts into this horse but then again, I am no trainer. This one has a form cycle pattern like Hansel...(0 2 X pattern )huge first route race, then a subpar race, now does he bounce?

California Chrome over Bayern will be selection in the Preakness.

Good skills

I worked this race as both a 9f and the actual 9.5 distance - no difference in the Top 3. No 10f races used. The only horse we know can actually get longer than 9f is Cali Chrome.

Easy to second guess every single horse, so I won't - just go with what shows up. It's one race out of a series of many I expect lots of interesting opportunities on the under card.

Cali Chrome to Win, with the only upset possible in the race being Social Inclusion. Kid Cruz channels Zenyatta and swoops in from Neptune for 2nd or 3rd. All the Earlies tire. We'll see if there's any Exacta money among these. No deeper for me.

Should be a wonderful day of racing - enjoy, everyone!

Ted,

Hurry run and go get " swoops in from Neptune" patent. There is a track
announcer out there somewhere ready to incorporate that line into there race call. LOL...I like it!!

Have a great Preakness day all,

Continued Success,

Paul

In case anyone is about to complain about no tote in RDSS for the Preakness Race 12, check Supertote in a browser - it's not working (39 MTP).

Well, another exciting race by Cali Chrome! I haven't had so much fun since, well - Smarty Jones, Big Brown and I'll Have Another...! CC was much more challenged today than in the Derby, and he showed us some extra guts. A great ride by Espinoza too, no doubt.

For those friends who tried to persuade me of my error of imagining Kid Cruz could run with these - I accept the judgment of the racetrack and bow to you . Ride on Curlin was the correct OTE horse, though Social showed good spirit in that stretch move against CC. Consolation (non-paying) prize of having the Top 4 in my Top 5 ...

I lost my exacta by over-estimating Kid Cruz, but no worries - it was just my 'ante-up' to look for some kind of price. CC over 2 horses cost $4, and the $18 Exacta yielded 7/2 (just picked the wrong 2 horses underneath ...)

Onwards to the Triple Crown, Belmont and the great long orbit they call that big sandy 1.5 mile dirt track!

Ted
