Question RDSS Beginning User - Guidance ?

I have the software program loaded on my home desktop computer and my laptop that I use when traveling.

I Downloaded the 4/7/13 and the 4/13/13 example races and was hoping to use them to follow along with while reviewing the teaching examples. Some of the other examples races weren't available at the time due to system maintenance.

I'm not sure how to open either of them. Can I open them through the RDSS desktop screen?

I have been reading many of the users posts, including reviewing the screen capture posts of races others have analyzed.

What is the best way for me to begin learning and using the RDSS system?

Thanks

Kem,

Welcome! You can switch to various example databases for study and educational purposes using the Database Mgmt Tool accessible from the RDSS Desktop. First watch the video on that topic here: http://paceandcap.com/forums/showpos...92&postcount=6

I recommend you watch all the videos currently available in that RDSS2 Videos section, but especially the Data Centre video which explains how to download new data from TrackMaster.

I also recommend you download from the Example Databases section the RDSS Teaching Forum and Example Races database (in the Example databases section). You can then use this to follow along with every thread posted in that RDSS Teaching Forum by For The Lead and by Bill V and other teachers. This will familiarize you with Sartin Methodology guidelines (some of them) for line selection and contender identification - also some of the factors we use to analyse the horses.

After you have done at least some of that - let me know and we can schedule a remote computer hookup and I will give you a further one-on-one tutorial of RDSS, configuring it optimally and some 'best practices'.

Please let us know if this advice was helpful.
