open to suggestion

I am to participate in a round table discussion next month on the topic of "Increasing the Fan Base," and wanted to bring to that discussion, the broadest possible base of information so that the "suits" will better able to understand what is right and what is wrong about our great sport.

No ideas are too far out as I am going to suggest that they consider what Hollywood and Anita started years ago with a clocker's corner to bring out families to morning workouts, the suggestion to have racing "stars" work out between races, and contests with patrons winning tours of the stewards/announcers/simulcast booth or a trip in the start car/or seat in the starting gate, etc. ALL POINTING toward increasing their appreciation and knowledge of what the game is really all about.

These are just a very few ideas I am bringing to the meeting and would really appreciate as many points of view as I can. THANKS in advance.

How about a free Million dollar Pick 6 lottery (or 7 or 8 to make it harder) run on big televised like the Derby or breeders cup. Entry is via a web site. 1 Entry per person and only 1 horse per race. Advertise it on the network. The goal is to generate publicity and viewers that may morph into fans.
