Your mileage may vary! It is basically the sum of the ratios between the pace of horse and pace of race for each fraction (with some other voodoo thrown in...). What is shown on screen is a ranking of that number. Fractals Again, these are remnants of an even earlier program named - 'Fractals' (!), which sought to blend energy distribution over finer fractions of the race than the given 2f increments (in sprints) or various other distance fractions in routes. The 3 designations Fr-Early, Fr-Late Fr-Normal are respectively a blending of 'portions' of each race fraction with more emphasis on the race portion pertinent to each category (e.g. Fractal Early has more measures of the early fractions than does the Fractal Late, which has more measures of the final fraction, etc). Some people model these categories profitably. The same information may also be seen (more or less) by tracking the EPR LPR 2ndCall readouts. Hope this helps, Ted

Fractals
Thanks Ted
I sort of zoned out with my answer I can sort of explain it this way Looking at the # 3 screen on Speculator The race is to a linear way of thinking is divided into 3 parts 1 F - 2F - 3 F = Total pace On the 3 screen we see a solid line Our minds might think seeing this of course weknow it doesn't that the Early is the 1 f The middle is the 2 f and the Late is the 3F Doc sort of took those 3 breaks and measured them as a sub like a Z pattern a little 1F mixed into a little 2F Look at horse 8 It has a 2 1f andd a 2- 2F I don't have the BL/BL screen availible yet I will check it out when I get home But I am kind of sure that the 8 not the 3 is the # 1 Early Fractal because of the strong readouts in both fractions as opposed to the 3 who drops quickly to 7th then 6th oh wait Richie did post the bl/bl and Yes the 8 dominates all three fractals The Early Fractal is not the 3 in fact the 3 is 5th Thats because its Looking at the Early energy Potentail screen rankings on the Energy generator I see the 8 is # 1 and the 1 is # 2 also the 2 is the counter energy Early stick on the Late early with a 3 - 3 readout on the 3 screen but is rated 7th on Early and Normal Fractals Thats what Doc told me Its a combiination ratings taking readouts from mutible Fractions against themself like a Z patern not a line |

This older Speculator topic has some useful descriptions of factors appearing in Speculator (and Validator and RDSS).
