CD Race 11 - Woodford Reserve
Had no opinion, did not play. Glad everyone returned safe, despite the tumbles That's the worst part of racing, for me. Hoping the fallen get up ...
FWIW, Contender separation was influenced by my observations (per Bill Lyster) that Top 5 CSR win a very high percentage of all races, all classes. Thus horses with CSR > 5 (i.e. blank) were demoted to Secondary).

Kentucky Derby
My picks:
Win: #13 and #14: Nyquist and Mohaymen. (I think 2-1 is a great price for Nyquist). WPS on #9 Destin (i.e. bet it and forget it) Exacta: 13-14 / 9-5-3 Looks like the 20 horse Derby field is working in the tote - finally (only took me 10 years ). Well, sadly, 11 years for the rest of you. OK, next year I promise!! BTW, what a mess ... Ted

Cigar, I did place my largest wagers of the day on Nyquist (and Mohaymen). I lost my Derby exacta for not including Exaggerator, and my winnings did not break me even for my other losing bets Saturday, though I made a nice profit Friday. A confusing collection of races Saturday (for me), most of which I did not bet, but a few enticing enough to pry loose my bankroll (and lose).
I'll try to get my Derby Day Rx Wager Decision Form completed and posted here by end of tonight, like Friday's WDF form. Mum said she made much more profit off Woodbine's new rolling Doubles on Saturday! I'm ready to spend some time looking at the home track this month! I hope you picked up a few loonies on those Doubles to pay for your losing bet on ... what was that horse ... Anyway, hope we can hook up later this Summer. Take care, Ted

I have new respect for the winner. Will try to beat him again but will box him as a saver on my exactor. My selection finished 4th and 5th, did not win a race at CD Sat. I did make a nice profit at WO with three nice winners $41.60, $8.60 and 7.30. |
