$36,885.20
A (shocked) RDSS user sent me the following, from MNR Nov 23:
By my quicky analysis, looks like the well ranked 6/5 favourite #6 was 'hidden'. I don't think much of the form of the top ranked #5. They did not bet the race due too many long priced horses in the top ranks... Among other long priced mutuels, the trifecta paid $36,885.20 for $1 Ted

This is a hard lesson learned. If you handicap consistently and conscientiously payoffs like this can and do happen. That's what the program does and others can't see. Sometimes the form or abilities of horses are so muddled that these kinds of odds happen and you just have to be ready to pull the trigger when it happens.
Look at it with a longer view. Its one race. If you bet $20 or $10 over one or more horses you win big. If you lose, you are out the $10 or $20 dollars. Absolutely no different than the same money lost if your 5/2 horse gets nipped at the wire. With any of the Sartin programs you need to bet these races. Winning one or more of them makes up for a lot of bad beats. They happen when they happen. If you doubt your line selection. Review it and then bet what the program says. We don't need the confirmation of thousands of other peoples dollars to make OUR bets. I learned this lesson the hard way, believe me. Happy Thanksgiving Bill |

Bet long odds with RDSS
Quote:
I laughed when I saw this quote. I hope you're telling your clients that long odds in the top BL/BL slots is what they should be praying for, especially at a bizarro track like Mountaineer. They'll be happy with the results. Cheers, B Jennet |

Races like this is what we live for. They are rare, but do come up from time to time. One that comes to mind for me was the 7th race on 11-7-09 at Oak Tree at Santa Anita ( Breeders Cup day). The RDSS BL/BL and VDC readout shows 2 top contenders at 20/1 Add the ML (foreign horse) favorite in the exacta and trifecta, and then have faith in what you are doing. |
