ALL Validator users / Feedback Needed - Pace and Cap

I need your feedback on something I am going to show please.

I moved this here from another thread cause it is important ok?

Ted has been in contact with Trackmaster programming dept and also Ellis Starr for the past couple of weeks.

To make a long story short he has gotten formulaic breakdowns on the things needed to restore the software to pre 2/1/06 "look" ok?

I want to show a side by side example of Val3c as it exists with the changed rating and variant scale next to the " changed back" 2006 version

these are 17 races over 3 CONSECUTIVE days at Belmont this weekend ok? Look straight across to see the readout for the SAME race blbl wise for each race. I used bl/bl because v'dc would have way too many TIES.

which is which?? care to guess? OR does it really matter based on this admittedly SMALL sample?

I WILL say this. Without question the patterns of ratings on the paceline screen along with much more realistic times on "equalized,normailzed,adjusted pacelines" are so much more REAL looking on the 2006 Val its OBVIOUS to anyone seeing the 2 side by side.

having said that look at the attached screen shot please.

as a less than 2 month validator user and after reading all the negative replies about these changes I will say that the left reaouts are from the new version you are testing while the right is the version after the changes on February 1st.

6 out of 17 wins ranked best on left compared to 3 out of 17 on right. I do notice that the number of wins top 2 are both the same at 9 for 17. my feedback

The column on the left side is Val3c as it currently exists

The column on the right is Val 2006 with the formulas returned to
"pre 2/1/06" with the input from Trackmaster programmers, Ellis Starr, and Ted's help.

You're right. 17 races on one readout has very little meaning, but I trust Ted's work, and with Ellis Star's help, they should be able to put Humpty Dumpty back together again.

I'm not sure what sort of feedback you're looking for, but if you are asking whether there's any interest in getting Validator to work like it did before February, where do I send the money, or who do I kill.

I've abandoned the program completely and miss it terribly. It just became too unstable for me to depend upon.

I've got no real pronlems with Trackmaster data. It is a mechanical par system and is just flat going to be wrong a certain amount of the time, as is BRIS or anybody else's par system. That's life. The problem with Val is that it was designed for a set of numbers on a different scale and won't work right with the new one. It probably wouldn't work right with the BRIS scale either without redesigning the program.

A converter may be the only answer, and if one can be produced, I'm in.
