Woodbine Gettogether 8/22
Join us Saturday August 22 at beautiful Woodbine racetrack for a day at the races. Long time friends of Pace and Cap - gandalf380 (Charlie B) and his wife Missy, normally residing at their 8th pole front row seats at Saratoga are visiting Toronto, and me and Mum and a few others so far are planning on coming.
Meet us in Champions Lounge, 3rd floor, west end - either we'll meet inside at the dining tables overlooking the back paddock, or move outside onto the patio for a direct view of the action. I'll try to be there by 11am to reserve some tables. Feel free to RSVP in this thread if you are thinking of coming. I will show folks what I have of the new RDSS2. We can compare notes on races from all perspectives of the Sartin Methodology and The Matchup. We'll see if Charlie is as good a handicapper of Woodbine racing as he is at Saratoga PLUS - we can still do the annual P&C analysis of the Alabama Stakes at Saratoga, running that day. For those coming from out of town, try these hotels near the track, all of which I have stayed at: International Plaza: (3 minutes drive) Woodbine Hotels & Suites: (walking) Comfort Inn / Woodbine: (walking) I like to watch the early morning workouts when I'm nearby. I'll be there Friday night, so join me early Saturday at the inner rail, top of the stretch! Looking forward to seeing everyone! Ted

Ken,
For myself, when I go to Woodbine live (as distinct from my handicapping office), I do tend to focus on Woodbine (also on meeting and blabbing with people I'm there with ). But I also look for interesting races at other tracks if there are races at Woodbine I cannot/will not bet. That weekend, we will definitely be working the Alabama Stakes at Saratoga! I am certain other people have their own approaches. I'm sure Charlie B will be keeping one eye on Saratoga ... Ted

Making me crazy Ted
Hello Ted and all. The Woodbine thing brings back fond memories as it was in Toronto that I first met Doc, Jimmy, LeRoi et al.
Would have loved to get there and meet you folks but I have a wedding in Tampa on the 23rd. As a matter of fact it has been a tradition to spend my birthday week in (8/20) in Saratoga but must forego that also for the same reason. So, just wanted to pop in, say hi and thanks for allowing me to join. It's a fantastic site and I have spent hours reading the various threads, etc. Kudos to all involved! And have a great time at Woodbine!!! |

Could be arranged. There is a celebration around that time.

Well our get together with our American friends has come and gone. The weather was great as was our whole afternoon. A good time was had by all and some of us even made a bit of money.
Head of the table is Charlie Bedard (gandolf380)(rumour has it that he will soon be changing this),upper right from him is Rich M from Rochester (ram), then Ted. Lower right from Charlie is The Pook and Charlie's wife Missy. We were joined on flyby’s by Carey G (cryptic1) and his wife Marsha, and by Tim Y. A couple of pics of the track.

Woodbine Gettogether 8/22
Hiya Barb,
You took all these pictures for this occasion? Is gandalf380 (Charlie Bedard) giving a reason for changing his P & C ID? This was a grandeur for Woodbine Gettogether 8/22!! DSL |
