Cardinal Picks
I like the 8 to wire this field. The tandem 7 horse couldn't apply enuf pressure last out and faded to lose by four. The 7 has won on front end but wins more often as a presser. The best closer appears to be the 6 and his 141.8 time is about what you get adding 6.4 seconds to his last mile turf race plus beaten lengths, so unless there is a duel that compromises the 8, I think this one fits the 2nd or 3rd slot. Lemon Chiffon the 9 has backed up the last two times against 112 paces, so i didn't use its better line when it closed against 110 and change - I'm thinking CD will be much softer and slower.
If we can get the 8 home on top I think there is a good trifecta available by boxing the other four underneath. Anyway, I am playing an 8 x 6 box with some backup money if the 15:1 odds hold on the 6 and of course the 8 to win. Good luck today, |
