tablet to run older programs
I am thinking about purchasing a tablet. Any suggestions which tablet(s)
would be best and will run older Sartin programs, such as Aodds Gold 98, etc. |

New tablets that can run DOS or older Windows programs will likely be running Windows 8.x (and soon Windows 10). Check out the discussion on new tablets here: http://paceandcap.com/forums/showthr...newpost&t=8839
The smaller Asus tablet described by Hoof11 would surely be suitable - and at the right price! All Win 7 and Win 8 versions likely need a DOS emulation environment to run DOS apps. In this Classic Sartin Forum, DosBox is described in a number of posts. Also the WinXP emulation mode from Microsoft, or a virtual environment like VirtualBox. You can install any of these in any recent version of Windows and with a bit of tinkering get mostly any DOS app to run no problem. Google has the info! Good luck. Ted

Thanks Ted, I am familiar with Virtual PC (XP Mode). I installed it on my
laptop, that has Windows 7 Pro. Works great. I found a Dell Tablet with Windows 7 Pro for $199 online. Thanks again Ciao John |
