Contest rules

In honor of Bill V's cross country adventure in the V/DC van and his new home in SoCal (home of the Doc and where this all started!):

Venue = Santa Anita

Start date = Saturday, December 26th (Boxing day for Howard was always a nice time!)

Contest length = 6 Saturdays in a row ending on January 30th 2010.
Bill's adventure from the time he packed his bags in Jersey, left, drove cross country and pulled into his new home in Socal took 6 days. We will play 1 Saturday for every day it took him on his adventure cross the United States!

This FREE contest to play is open to ALL registered members of Pace and Cap on 12/9/2009. Members registering today forward are not eligible to participate in this contest .

Format:
2 races each Saturday consisting of the biggest field non maiden polytrack race and the biggest field non maiden turf race (before scratches announced.) In case of a tie with field size the one selected will be the one with the highest Trackmaster "Race class" number.

If in addition there is a Grade 1 race (which is NOT one of those 2 above named races)on either surface on these days that race (s) will be ADDED to the 2 races normally scheduled.

Wagering Format:
We will have 2 separate "contests within a contest"
1) Everyone gets $20.00 to bet ANY way they like Win/Place/Show on any number of horses.
2) In ADDITION everyone gets $24.00 to bet ANY way they like on the following ONLY - Exacta, Trifecta, Superfecta

** Betting is allowed until post time with the "off time" in the Equibase result chart designated as "off time". Any bets time stamped even 1 minute past this will NOT be allowed so make sure to "get em in timely"ok?**

We will be paying prizes for BOTH the WPS standings as well as the Exotic standings.

Scoring:
Please read CAREFULLY as I need your help:
1) When the contest forum goes up each player will start a thread with his/her name and will score their "own ball" self tallying each days WPS and Exotic hits in their own named thread.

**Scores from each Saturday MUST be tallied and posted by the player at the LATEST the following evening (Sunday) by 7 PM Eastern time so I can go around and tally/post the contest leaders by Monday evening. If you fail to update your individual thread by Sunday evening at 7 PM Eastern time your score for that week regardless of actual total will be ZERO.**

2) ALL bets will be placed in individual race threads created by me before that weeks play.We will NOT be able to post alternate picks in case of scratches etc.

Folks WILL be able to amend/change picks up until post time of the races and at Santa Anita that usually gets us to evening time here in the East.

The process to change/amend picks is to go to your original post in that race thread/reply with quote so your original post is seen and then update with your new picks. Again this process is available right up until post time.

**Bets placed in individual players threads will not be tallied and will not count.**

Prizes:
Ted Craven and myself will be working to put prizes together and they will be announced before play starts (PS during these tough economic times our emails and PM's are open for any "help" with this )

We are definitely wanting to pay 3 END OF CONTEST prizes for EACH of the 2 separate contests (WPS and Exotic). Let's see what shakes out! If we get extra prizes etc some sort of weekly prizes might be added also ok?

** Ted and myself will be running the contest and will not be eligible for prizes**

We will be emailing the entire membership here at Pace and Cap notifying them of the contest. There is no need to sign up, just show up and play man!

So now all the talk, talk, talk is over and done with man. You gonna walk the walk and play???

The "William Varone California Dreamin" contest here at Pace and Cap!!

ARE YOU IN?????????
