Move over Zenyatta
He is only a horse that got claimed for $6,500, but RAPID REDUX has now won 19 races in a row to tie a mark set by Zenyatta and Peppers Pride.
I don't know when this horse will be trying for #20 in a row and attempt to set an all time North American record for consecutive wins, but he has a chance to sit up there on a perch..... all by himself. Here is the race that tied him with 19 consecutive wins. http://therail.blogs.nytimes.com/201...aim-at-record/

A record in the making?
For those tuning in late, Rapid Redux is going for the North American record of 20 consecutive wins in the 8th race at MNR tonight.

A record breaking performance
In his usual front running style, Rapid Redux won his record breaking 20th consecutive race tonight.
No, he is too old for the Triple Crown races and I doubt he will be in any of the Breeders Cup races next year, but he stands alone at the top of the horse racing world with 20 consecutive wins.

Just saw the race win #20 a new record. Everytime another horse was in contention he had plenty in reserve and moved easily ahead.

I read somewhere that in the first race of this winning streak, some horse was actually in front of him at the first call. Since then, this horse has been "in front" for "79" consecutive calls!

Rapid Redux
Ted, I agree with your comments on Rapid Reduxs race last night. It was a shame that 4 of the 8 entries scratched out of the race. You cannot take anything away from Rapid Redux as he was challenged several times and put each challenger away. Still it would have been nice to see the record broken against a full field.
