Quirin Speed Points and Run Styles

As an HSH user as well as RDSS, the Run Styles on HSH are set according to the # of speed points the horse has accumulated. For example, an E would run 7-8 points, EP would run 4-6 points, P would run 2-3 and S (or M for midpack in HSH) would be 0-1. It simplifies the run style process for me but is there really merit in doing this? Or would I achieve better long run results by trying to create a run style based on the "visual" evidence that jumps off the Form? I'll be the first to admit that run style analysis is a leak in my game and if I could better determine a horse's "style" for TODAY'S race, it would improve my handicapping so much.

Thank you Terry. I'll look it up (this HSH) in the Google Site Search and see if I can understand this Run Styles topic that Jeebs is referring to.

Thanks,
D.S.L.

Hi Terry,

Thanks again for your info. I visited this website http://store.thehorsehandicappingaut...ndicapper.html and, found out that Price: $1,497.00 for HSH Software. The Horse Street Handicapper by Dave Schwartz, the most Powerful Handicapping Software Available Anywhere.

For sure, I'll look up Quirin's Book on Quirin Speed Points and Run Styles. This is the best. I learned something new today.

Thanks,
D.S.L.

I think it's fair to say the value or "power" of any software is only equal to the skill of the person using it.

Well said, Bill..

Garbage in....garbage out....like what Doc used to say many times, the race is analyzed before the computer is turned on....
