Goes to show you, that watching replays and reading the charts can pay well at times. I saw Mage's big move the the Fla Derby and couldnt wait for the Derby, but the big turn move against the rest of the field never showed up in RDSS to the extent that I felt comfortable as a prime bet. Brought to mind the same move made in traffic by Little Current back in the 70's in the Derby, which, with a little more seasoning produced a nice Preakness win.
I did not pay particular attention to the fact that following the FD it worked once at 5f and twice at 6f. When you look back to the entries screen there is a long list of workout shorthand only matched by Angel of Empire. Only Confidence Game, Mage and Angel of Empire had more than a 5f move after their previous race leading into the Derby. No win money on Mage but a small DD bet helped to cover the rest of my doings for the day. Live and learn. |

LT. Tim emailed me before the Derby his look (even though he said he wasn't playing CD.) He is soooo consistent with his method it really is something to behold! This is what he sent 5 hours before the Derby went off!

Thanks for the kind words Richie and Darryl. I have posted my approach many times for folks to see. I will post my look at the Derby in the races of interest. For the record the place was my 5th pick and I did not play the Derby.
Tim
