Race 3

Once again there sits the winner in my final four contenders and me not choosing it. That 9/5 ML did scare me off. It wound up paying 8.50.



I could have eliminated the 6 (placed by a half length behind the 3) by following this advice from the Tandem Manual:

Here I had the Exacta marked and went for the higher priced horse to place. I probably over-weighted the win part of the W/P bet. Still, a winning bet.

Race 2

Yet again, there is the winner in my final 4, unused by me. I chose the two late running horses for win bets. Neither finished in the money.

Race 7

I figured this to be a two horse race. Both had the same final time adjusted for the distance. The 4 won and the 5 showed. Small profit of $14 on the two win bets overall.

Race 8

My two horse win bet placed and showed.

I'll take the dominant late runner. His paceline shows that he can join the Es and Ps at the stretch call. The extra distance from 6 to 6.5 should help.

I'm going for another late runner against many earlies.

Look for a replay of the tandem race minus that day's winner. With the addition of the 13 horse who can force the early pace into the stretch, I expect the early horses to be even more used up toward the finish.
