I originally got it down to the 2-5-6-7-8 and started whittling it down after that.
The 8 could/should run behind the 3 and burn the 3 into a crisp if its last is a true indication of talent. The 8 had pressed or wired its field 5 times in the past, in very slowly run races. I think it can press today in what should be a quicker race.. The next best presser is the 5 who has run 4-3-1 off of a 135.2 and has be on or just off the lead at the stretch call in 3 races. I eliminated the 2 and 6 because while they closed strongly, they were never in the top 3 at the mile call. The 6 is obvious class of the race, but it looks like a prep to me. Its first 7 races were on dirt and only won a 4.5f race. Its last 9 have been on turf and with one sprint exception, all have been routes. 2 starts at 8 furlongs, finishing 4th and 5th 4 starts at 9 furlongs, 2 wins, one place and a very close 4th 2 starts at 10 furlongs finished 12th and 9th. So I am guessing that there is a 9f race coming up sooner or later that this one is prepped to go. First choice is the 8, then the 5 and a longshot #7 just in case the 147.3 (134.5 mile time) where it won a So. American Grade 1, is not a fluke. Exotically, I would not leave out the 6 from the place hole, just not for win. |

Handicap race! I'm going FTL all the way. Maybe to the bank! With 6 scratched the three top high weights with ties are 2,3,5,7,8. 7 is unknown. 8 is probably the best and is THE high weight but 8 and 7 have been away well over 89 days.
So 2,3,5 into the mix. 2,5 come up on top in BLBL. 5,2 @ 60/40 Pook |

Another tough feature where two horses stand out but at least 5 unknowns in this race. And the two best will be bet down good, any unknown is subject to jump up.
I'll go 8-5-4-10 Mitch44 |
