I guess...
...I would have to know if the 84 SF was something it had done in the past or if it was a one time run for the horse. If he regularly runs in the 70's and only ran the 84 once I would have to go with the 70 SF line.

"If he regularly runs in the 70's and only ran the 84 once I would have to go with the 70 SF line."
That's usually the best course to take. Sometimes however, the aberrant (high) number will do the trick. But generally speaking, ya gotta go with the 'norm' and disregard the atypical performance. Regards, Jon

ok...
...so going with my logic from the previous post I would have to say the 84 line, because to me that would look like the "best" line.

All right then...
I see that the 84 line came from a maiden win where the pace was slower and there was a 0 TV.
In the 70 race our horse set a much faster pace with a -12 TV. So I think the 70 line is better than the 84 line. I am still a bit fuzzy about how the TV is used (especially with a Speed Figure, isn't the variant figured into the figure?)but I am pretty sure a negative number means the track is slower. So taking into account that the track was slower and the pace was faster, the 70 line was a "better" race than the 84. So with the same thinking the 83 line even though it was from the same track and distance as todays race the TV was 23, making it actually slower than the 70 race? |

Which line?
I wanted to put up a screen shot from one of the races from this MOnday at Del Mar that I have on Val4, but it won't work for me. I was able to put it on a .txt file. It wont be as cool looking but the info is there.
The PPs are from the winning horse in the 1st on the 21st, it paid $40.00+ and no I didn't have it. He wasn't even one of my contenders. |

Screen shot
All right, thanks Charlie that seems to work. I just discovered last night that I could display the original pacelines. Again this is the first race from Del Mar 7-21. The pps are from the winner of the race and he paid $40.00+. Wish I had him.
