Yes you did. And not for anything related to this thread. It is your choice what to do with my warning.

Pino and Parts,

I know you guys dont need any lecture from me but we have to realize
that P&C has taken on a different direction since VDC Messinger days.
When a guy once posted where did some of the old posters go to, I
believe that they knew this. It is a shame as some of these people were
really sharp handicappers and there was a lot to learn from them.

Jeff,
I don't need to be reprimand for a remark, (go suck a lolly pop) that I delete afterward. At 68 of age the only two things I have to do is pay taxes and die other than that, Ted can kiss my ass goodbye.

Thanks for the replies....

It is not my place to place judgement, especially in message boards where personalities sometimes get supercharged with testosterones and heated opinions..

I was wondering because I was interested in some of the knowledge of some of our previous posters...Richie P...for his matchup knowledge and his sharing of Bradshaw's tutelage..

TIM y....for sharing concepts of declining form based on energy in a horse's recent races and his evaluations of Derby contenders based on percent median parameters where 69% is too high and 66% is too low....

Thanks again.....
Richie P is alive and well, recently married and happy as a clam as far as I can tell. He is also on a RDSS team in the PAIHL Team contest with my mother and Pat H (Old Arkie Gal). (They finished 2nd of 42 teams yesterday).

Tim Y was invited to leave Pace and Cap several years ago. I agree, Jeff, he IS a really sharp handicapper, AND a really 'sharp' personality - too sharp for us. The tradeoff of excellent insights into the Methodology and useful new research and observations - was not worth the discord which followed his posts. You can likely partake of his wisdom at his own website, Sartin Alums.

Jeff, you are correct that things have changed since Bill V's original VDC Messenger Yahoo list days, and since earlier times at Pace and Cap. There is currently no tolerance for rude public behaviour. People come here to learn, not to have to wade through, and be distracted by, sh*t.

Ted

Pino,

Thank you for making it easy, although I decline your invitation. Goodbye, though.

You know that the above remarks were not the only comments you made, and you are welcomed to share them in private and in full - including my reply to you - with whomever you like.

Some (very few) members have made (repeated) posts which would not survive the Code of Conduct in public in discussions which they subsequently delete. This has the effect of sending those comments by email to everyone who had posted in a thread (i.e. the intended recipients of the unacceptable comments), while apparently leaving no 'public' record of the comments (except to me, the Admin).

This is unacceptable practice. Don't do it. If you disagree with someone, send them a Private Message. If you think they're an idiot or worse, first attempt a bit of self-control. The recipient of such a Private Message may choose to block further communication from you, and if they complain of aggressive or threatening behaviour, that does not help a member's case to remain active here.

Not everything you think, requires public airing. And please do not bother with the 'freedom of speech' argument. Members are 'free', and most welcomed to post communication which supports friendly and positive learning and sharing of horse racing knowledge, with an orientation to the Sartin Methodology . Almost everyone can figure out those boundaries, and people don't get banned for messing up in the early days.

As I said in another thread recently: new rules - be nice. Heed this!

Who's next ... ?

Ted

I did not know Richie P is in that contest good for him and Im very
glad to hear he is happily married.

I am very sorry that Pino will no longer be a member as besides being
a great guy,he had a lot to offer in the way of handicapping.

Also Trotman who I gather will no longer post here as I know he has a
wealth of information and is willing to share and ask nothing in return.
A great guy as well.

As for myself to be honest I really miss the old VDC Messinger days
and wish it would be setup as a different place on it's own. I dont
remember any rude behavior there, we did disagree from time to time
on things.

Jeff

Re Trotman, there is no change to his membership status.

I was not talking about his change in membership status but maybe
a reluctance to post as he has not done so in awhile.

Not this this matters much but was just thinking how VDC Messinger
was different. For me it was like a bunch of guys meeting in a bar who
had one thing in common Sartin Methodology and just enjoyed talking
about handicapping the races.

I guess the main difference was there was no one particular software
that really was the main focal point of the discussions. Oh well times
change and I guess people do too.
