Question contenders from races 8 and 9 Hawthorne Saturday
Race 8 , horse 3
Race 9 horses 3 and 6 I don't see any of these horses meeting your criteria. Can you explain further how you made exceptions in these cases. Thanks, Bill |

Hawthorne 02-18-2012
Hello Bill Lyster .
There were 4 contenders in race #6 (2-3-4-7) There were 7 contenders in race #7 (2-4-5-6-7-8-11) There were 7 contenders in race #8 (1-4--5-6-7-8-9) There were 2 contenders in race #9 (4-10) You are correct on most issues. It appears i became a little (LOT) too creative in my routine. I'm glad you understand my method of madness. I use it at all tracks It may seem a bit restrictive, but it works well, most of the time. Race 6. contenders = 3-8-9-12-13 Top Apv-Class = 3-5-11-7-12 median energy profile = 68.80=== 6 fur. winners Race 7. contenders = 2-4-5-8-9 Top Apv-Class = 1-8-4-2-3 median energy profile = 68.80 === 6 fur. winners Race 8. contenders = 9-1-3-8-2 Top Apv-Class = 4-1a-3-7-2 median energy profile = 68.80 === 6 fur. winners Race 9. contenders = 4-6-3-10-11 Top Apv-Class = 11-9-10-3-5 Bob, Still confused here under a palm tree. I don't mean to be picky, but would probably admit to anal when it comes to following examples. In race 6 the first post said that contenders were the 3-8-9-12-13. Now you are saying that your final contenders are the 2-3-4-7. Can you explain how the 2-4-7 got in the mix after your original post? To some extent the example for race 6 applies to several of the races, so could you take us through one or more at your choice so we understand your method a little better. Question #2: Your APV/Class list for race 6 is 3-5-11-7-12, but the 13 is #4 class per the current version of RDSS2 (I am assuming that Ted is using your updated formulae for these numbers- not sure tho'). I am not so concerned that the finish was 5-9-13, but more how your analysis lead you to pick your contenders and on what basis you eliminated some of the APV/class horses. Thanks, Bill |

A race from GPX 02-23-2012 / 2nd race
Hello Bill. I have requested MikeSal post the 2nd race from GPX 02-23-2012
I will go through my process of elimination and qualification of contenders and no-win contenders. I will also include APV-CLASS for the entire field. I hope this will clear up any mis-conceptions from a previous post. One final note. Apv and Class are irrevelant in races for young , lightly raced horses. This includes 2yr olds, and 3yr olds before August of their 3rd year. The most important use of APC-Class becomes apparent in races for older horses. It is useful for separating ties, and finding place horses in exotics. I have no idea how the RDSS software calculates APV-CLASS. I have not begun to use it, but i plan to in the future. The Gpx race on 02-23-2012 should be interesting. Let's see if we can break it down. BobC |
