Thanks Tim and yes its been a very long road to arrive where we're at today. That road is littered with the carcass of many failed members of the Sartin concept. They lacked the stamina and mental endurance to succeed in this difficult challenge. Also the phycological aspect of winning that Sartin always expounded on and taught.
Damn few based on my experience. Bert Mayne a Minster of a church was one, who won enough money to start up his church and maintain it with winnings from the track. Now that's my kind of church and preacher. I serious doubt many now of days ever heard of him. He was a regular whenever there was a seminar at Saratoga. Yes we we were privileged to have their guidance to include Tom Brohamer. IEven with all that I never was able to understand the concept or the many fine points of it all for many many years. Then about 10 years later when I returned to it and read about it that light was turned on and I said why the hell didn't I get this the first time around. It pays to read something 2 or 3 times for that light to turn on for some reason or other. They say it takes 10,000 hours to become an expert at something. I don't believe its that much however its truthful in that it does take many hours, also getting away from it for awhile, it refreshes the brain somehow and enables understanding and learning of it all. You are welcome good buddy. Sorry I overlooked Tom B who was also a great help at seminars we attended. I would suggest that folks go to the library section and read and watch the vids where Tom is featured. A wealth of info can be found there. I just want to remind folks that no one becomes an over night success. It takes hard work to get there, Those who are willing to do it will get there those who won't will not. Ok I will get off the soap box now and wish good luck & skill to those struggling to get to their goals and remind them there is help available if they will lose their pride and ask for it as most winners before them have done.

Lifetime Guarantee
Tim and several others who posted about people who refuse to put in
the necessary work to become successful with the Methodology, or life in general , is specifically why I wrote the "LIFETIME GUARANTY" shown in Follow Up #2. It appears history somehow repeats itself. Bob Cochran Sr. |

Bob,
I'm totally in agreement with you. I believe that's one reason and a powerful one as to why the old heads somewhat rule and are successful. We did it by making our own calculation by hand and we have an understanding many can't comprehend. I don't believe it takes 10,000 hours to become an expert at something or task as is determined by doing it. We can only learn so much by reading, theory Etc. One must have practical application. A race is the classroom for learning. One would be better off spending hours on a race and tearing it apart to learn. It 'll expose your weakness such as; proper contenders, or pacelines and a better decision process. Speed of application will come naturally, walk it first. Then ask some great handicappers here on site for their opinion. And if no mistake , move on and get to the next race. However some where in that number of hours is that key. Sartin always said; "understand concept" or the basic of something and build from there, one could also say its builds a foundation for success. The real problem is many are into instant gratification and must have it now. Work, are you kidding, no time for that. Well good luck with that, as it will provide winners, however not enough for success of what their really seeking. Doing the work is the key to the mint or our banks where we make those withdraws on a regular basis. Mitch44 |

" To get lost is to learn the way."
~ African proverb. This is how us old heads got there, putting in those hours and study. This is the way to success & key to the mint. Nothing else needs to be said as this says it all. Mitch44 Last edited by Mitch44; 10-12-2025 at 10:35 AM. |
