Q-Scan for the quarters

I picked up an old Sartin manual recently, written mostly by Jim Bradshaw, called Q-Scan, which was a quarter horse handicapping program.

I love the concept of a pace handicapping method for quarter horses. There appears to be enough information in the manual to put it back together, but I was wondering if anyone had a copy, or had any experiences with the original program?

Good to be back

It's good to be posting again, Jeff. They had several that were either applicable to harness or had special harness versions. I've always been slightly curious about harness racing, but they generally don't run in my part of the world, so the interest is academic.

Quarter horses though are a different story. They damn near run them down main street in some parts of Oklahoma. The conventional wisdom is that pace is not a factor in quarter horse racing, not to mention the fact that with no calls but the stretch and final and no fractional times, its difficult to measure, even if it does exist

For those reasons, I was just blown away by the concept of a Sartin methodology pace program for the quarters. Who else could it come from but Bradshaw/Sartin. Wonderful creativity.

I've got some testing to do,

Dick...
