here are the horse we have entered lines for all together on a raw data screen.

The arrow shows the CLEAR early dominance of the 5 horse. no other horse is even 2nd or 3rd at the FIRST call ok?

Remember the Hat's matchup stresses the FIRST call.

ok now we will switch to adjusted data.

If you make the call that EARLY is definitely advantaged in THIS matchup based on what you see POSITIONALLY with the 5 horse here are THREE key readouts that should get you to the winner quite easily

the winner is EPR -rank 2 . now also remember that the best ranked early is that 3 horse who I took a LIBERTY with and included that 2nd off lay line where a LOT of folks would not use it ok? if you do not use that line the winner is ranked BEST in EPR.

Look at the E/L column all the way to the right. The winner is the 2nd ranked there also with a HUGE gap to the next best. Can NOT miss him if you try.

The third is something NOT having anything to do with early. It is the winner's rank on BL/Bl. I have used this style software for over a dozen YEARS and I can tell you from MY work that the vast MAJORITY of LONGSHOT BOMB winners ranked THIRD on this readout.

EXACTLY where the $58.80 winner is here!

Deja voux all over again

Summary

What you saw is just MY quirky way of working a race.

The 5 step approach and using it on software is BEST done INDIVIDUALLY using "keys" and "ideas" that the user has. This is NOT a rigid system but rather a flexible and powerful approach to the races.

You also do NOT have to do ANY of this to WIN at the races.

There are MANY ways to wager for profit.

Best of luck and hope this helped a bit.

Richie,
Thanks for posting this..it is a good example of what one can do with the MatchUp2 knowledge and RDSS. However, I was wondering how you dealt with some of the 5 steps in handicapping this race. I see you did not look for any Tandems..no need to do that? Also where is this race's projected pace? Not important besides labelling it "fast pace"? Which contender would give the pace of this race? How did you deal with the actual Matchup? I see on the last screen you have 3 Early and 1 EP. You expected this race to be ran Early obviously, correct? I wonder how your usage of "Bet the Horse Closest to Lead positionally factoring in Pace of Race" could have applied here..Could you elaborate a bit more on those points? Thanks again.

Racer,
Here is a screen showing the tandems. The 10 horse was scratched so kinda block him outa your mind ok?

1) What is YOUR projected pace for this race? WHO is going to go for the LEAD at the FIRST CALL?

2) WHO is the horse closest to the lead postionally factoring in pace of race?

Hmm..choosing the pace of the race for this race is like picking the best of the worst..there is not an outstanding line IMO for each horse's last race. None of them won and they were beaten by a lot of lengths. So what to do? The only paceline I can come up on my own would be #2 Forest Sprite:
21.7, 45.1, 110.6 Even though he finished 4th by 8.3 lengths. Do you agree? Regarding the Closest to lead factoring the pace of race issue, the length matchup of the winner to the paceline would be:
Paceline: 6.2 8 7.5 6.3
winner: hd 1 2 11

Yes it is clearly obvious that the winner beats the paceline and has the biggest advantage at the First Call. Thanks for your outline of this race. Very helpful.
