I hope the first part is not true because it will be our loss here for sure Jeff.

I think Dick has a good idea with the ignore thing. It would keep you here too which is VERY cooooooooooooooooool!

Regardless my Pop always told me that Johnny U was the greatest quarterback to ever play the game

[QUOTE=shoeless;39111]Dick,If this is a public forum then how come posts are deleted or edited./QUOTE]

Jeff,

I spent a good bit of my life in the saloon business and a good bit more just in saloons. In any situation where you have people discussing issues that are important to them, someone has to play the sherif and they are designated so by the owner of the saloon.

When disagreements arise, it is the job of the sherif to keep a lid on it. In a real saloon, you jump in front of fights, take away guns and knives and generally try to quiet down troubles.

Here, the weapons are words, and posts are edited or removed to try to keep serious, hostile disagreements and hurt feelings to a minimum.

Sometimes, the sherif pisses off one party or the other and sometimes he pisses off both. Sometimes, he is wrong and acts too quickly or not at all. Its a judgement call, but someone has to do it and I tend to give a lot of leeway to the sherif.

After all, he just deleted or edited a post. He didn't whack your collarbone with a crescent wrench.

Dick

The 9 is a fighter while the 2 needs an open lead to win at the 1c. See it? So automatically we KNOW he ain't getting THAT comfort zone in this matchup.

That relegates the 2 to Ote and he can NOT run like that and win. So he is removed as a contender for win. Leaves us 1 horse the #9 as the dominant early.

NOW bring in the FIGHTING personality traits he posesses into your head if you will.
Richie, just a great example of good pace handicapping! The one horse was eliminated long before the second call or third fraction. Which is what happens daily in race after race. Pace handicapping begins with the gate opening. If a horse is to win "early" he doesn't get to wait until the second call to be early. I think not only the first call, but the start call in many sprint races is very important. Sometimes the first call is too late to be early.

I was delighted to see you talk about being on the lead at the 1C, because Jim was once answering a question I had about the match up. I was arguing a line where the horse was 2-hd to try to make him the leader, and Jim said, rather bluntly, "Well, second ain't on the lead, now it is it?"

What truth, Tim? Richie's statement about my quote is only about me. I misspoke. It has nothing to do with your original proclamation:

F1 certainly is a mainstay of the "Methodology" that I'm learning.

I made a mistake speaking for the Hat, but I think everyone here knows exactly what I meant. And what I meant is that the Hat considered the first call extremely important. More important, in fact, than just about anyone else did at the time using the "Methodology." Not that they all didn't use it to one degree or the other--they did.

That Hat might not have used it as a "stand alone" factor, but I don't think I would be out of line in saying that not only did he consider it essential, but also predictive. That's what I get from his teachings. In the "Minds Eye" articles that is the only fraction he is using to teach Richie. Now that might not be "stand alone," but it certainly is powerful.

I certainly do use F1 as a stand alone factor. It's a big part of the Hat's thinking, and an eye opening revelation if used properly. I have fully incorporated this "idea" into my handicapping.

I'll even go one step further. I believe I could do very well picking winners if the only fraction I could ever look at was the first fraction. Why? Because at this point in time F1 is the only fraction that I'm using! I believe the Hat, Richie and others could, and have, done so too; but that is only my opinion.

Now, if I misspoke again please correct me. This time I won't equivocate. I'll do a full mea culpa.
