Seventh race

The better part of the entry will have to come from the clouds to win this. The 5 at mucho generous odds and the 7 look better to me.

Charlsie Cantey was a host on our local weekly racing show in the 70s and 80s, then went on to national exposure with CBS I think. She always seemed genuine, and as she was Forego's exercise rider, she got extra points from me.

Frank Wright was her co-host locally, and while he was no great shakes as a trainer it seemed, he was a very good on-camera person.

I went further back for a line on the 7, only because I was looking to knock out the entry. I prefer the 5 though, and if I lose to a 3/5 shot, so be it.

Then that's it for the rest of the day as RDSS won't let me handicap the eighth at 13 panels.

Spec and I changed it to ten furlongs but the favorite will just about have to fall down to lose it unless Ravel goes off and hides

The 2 was an obvious 'trip' horse. The problem is that Andy Serling, who does the pre-race commentary, loved the horse and gave him out. At the time the horse was 9:1. Next flash it went to 6:1, then 5:1, before finally settling at 7:1. Any chance of getting 10:1 or more on him, which I expected, went out the window and the only play was the exacta.
