Toteboard - Be Careful what you click
I got a bill for $15 today from Brisnet.com
Not ever having bought anything there I was little perplexed, so I called up the number on the bill and spoke to a rep. Turns out that when you are in RDSS and log into the Toteboard, you are actually logging into brisnet.com as well. Now if you click on any of the banners within the toteboard, they may take you to someone's 'picks' that are pay per view. They don't ask for any credit card or make you select a check box to ensure you know you are getting charged, it is just another button to click, and they bill your account and send it to you at the end of the month I am sure it is in the small print somewhere, and I do blame myself for not being more careful, but I believe it is very easy to not know that you are getting billed for something when using the toteboard. They did credit my account when I told them I had no idea what the charges are for, so no harm no foul, but thought I would warn others. Cheers Jim |

Good point, Jim. You are actually logging onto your account at Brisnet.com's SuperTote. You could just as easily do this from your Internet Explorer browser (not Firefox) as from within RDSS. The idea is to refresh the cookie, which expires every 12 hours or so.
The various browser windows within RDSS are real internet browsers (for specific web pages but in BrisNet's case, with several links), so you can get into the same trouble/paradise as with any web browser. That said, the pop-up message from RDSS before opening the SuperTote web page does say to login to SuperTote, then close the browser window and get out of it (usually takes about 10 seconds all in). So I guess it's caveat emptor. Glad they refunded your money! Ted
