This info can the be used to Match horse against todays Projected Pace and horse against horse to identify the TRUE contenders and the pretenders.

Just like Tom Brohamer, Doc Sartin, Jim "The Hat " Bradshaw etc teach in thier various Manuals, Tapes and articles.
All the things you just mentioned are all true. There is no question about it. And I agree with most of what the authors you mentioned have written.

However, as I said previously, the information that can be kept in a data base is only limited by an individuals imagination.

There was a time when "Beyer" numbers were not in the DRF.
There was a time when "FPS" were yet unknown.
There was a time when everybody and their mother did not have "pace figs".
There was a time when energy distribution had not been heard of.

Do you see my point?

No i don't

You seem to be suggesting that the Pacelines in a horses past performance tell lies when, in fact, they tell you exactly what happened under those conditions.

No more information is needed.

lol.
No, I never said that. I simply said that at one time all that information you mentioned wasn't known or available. But it is today. Why? Because somebody developed it. How do you or I know that someone out there isn't developing something new even as we speak. Something that will ultimately render PP's as we know them, not useless, but secondary? And therefore, having information in a results data base only restricts the user by their imagination to develop something new. That's it! "gl45" made a suggestion and I just expanded on it. I feel I am in a position to expand on it since, as you are probably aware, I keep a data base of my own.

I know you didn't say it FTL, but my understanding of what you wrote is, you seem to be suggesting it.

ALL information comes from the Past performances so they can not be secondary to anything.

A little on the harsh side, but I am in agreement.

We are dealing with peoples hard earned, so i tink it's maybe best to be blunt and get the point across as quick as possible.

Sorry Charlie, you understood incorrectly. Whatever it was that made you reach that understanding was not meant in that way.

Obviously I work with all that same information. I would not if I thought it was all "lies", so it wouldn't make sense for me to say that or even infer that.

"ALL information comes from the Past performances so they can not be secondary to anything." At least for now.

How can anything make a past performance record secondary, this is how ALL information from racing is gathered.

Crystal Balls are about as much use as chocolate fireguards.

Cut it out Charlie, you 're making me laugh.

Yes, it is how all racing information is gathered, but perhaps something will come along that will change the use of it.
Crystal balls are definitely not in the mix I am sure!!!

By the way, what is a "fire guard"? Is that the equivalent of an American "fire plug"?

FPS, Pace figs, speedfigures trainer, jockey stats, bias stats and whatever else you can think of, are derived from the past performances

The PP record is the starting point for everything and can not be second to anything.
