Thumbs up Let's Cheer on the 2 RDSS Teams!

3 Teams representing RDSS (as well as other handicapping approaches by their various team members) went into an inter-board handicapping contest on PaceAdvantage.com in January (P.A.I.H.L. - PaceAdvantage Inter-board Handicapping League) along with a total of 50 teams representing many different handicapping communities, software tools and persuasions. All 3 teams entered the Quarter Finals, 2 teams survived to the Semi-finals and the same 2 teams have now made it to the Finals this Friday and Saturday.

The (oddly-named) Team 'Craven's Ravens' (thanks guys ) led by our own Seattlesnake (Jess J) fought valiantly against fierce competition through the regular season, finishing very respectably most weeks and months, but was eliminated in the Quarter-final round April 23. Congratulations to Jess and his team mates for a job very well done!

Team 'Pens Pens Rdss' consists of our own Rverge (aka Chef, aka ML Cookie), cdax (Chris D) and their fellow Pennsylvanian compatriot gaz - which explains the Pens Pens part of the name!

Team 'Squatheads' is the partnership of our veteran contest player extraordinaire dogkatcher (John D), newly arrived member but general equine handicapping veteran goatchaser and their compatriot and horse-flesh judge dodgerbecky. These guys and gals are part of one big happy, extended Italian family - so anything can happen! I'll let dogkatcher explain the origin of the name 'Squatheads' if he likes.

So the Pens Pens Rdss and the Squatheads Teams vie against 6 other (really tough) surviving teams over 16 races: 8 races at Churchill Downs on Friday and another 8 races at Churchill on Saturday culminating with the Kentucky Derby. I am going to post the designated 8 races each day and a rep from each Team has graciously agreed to re-post their official picks for the Contest in this Forum.

After they have done so each day, feel free to post your own picks and analysis for the same races. I'll also set up a special Topic for the Kentucky Oaks on Friday and the Kentucky Derby on Saturday

Let's show a big, warm and noisy Pace and Cap wave of support for our intrepid handicappers and wish them all the best in the big Contest Finale! You guys rock - take it down!

Ted

Well done all of you! The surviving two teams, go get 'em guys. We're all rooting for you. I know you two teams will end up battling it out for 1st and 2nd place.

Charlie D in the mix too!

Best of luck mates in the finals! You all are there because you deserve to be consistently scoring well man! "Goomba", Chef, Chris et all knock em dead

Hey if I am reading the rosters right it looks like our own Charlie D is in also as a member of "Team Zenyatta". If that is indeed him no doubt he will be "matching them up" and contributing his feedback to that team as well

For everyone - enjoy:
