Rapid Redux = Citation? LRL R6

Rapid Redux seeks to equal Citation's single year win record of 19 races (and 21 in a row for RR) in today's 6th race at Laurel.

For the first time recently, he seems to have some kind of early competition, from the #6. The head-to head between those 2 might be the chance the #4 needs for an upset.

(Just for the record, in the future history of horse racing, no one will confuse Rapid Redux with Citation in terms of great horses.)

Thanks for posting. I forgot about this race. Interesting that the 4 is tops in categories where the 1 is not. Will be fun to watch.

The #1 Rapid Redux is tops in a number of categories, and I could have chosen a number of different pacelines to put him on top. I chose the one I did to show a recent short route where another front runner (#6) had the early pace hands down, and thus a challenge to RR's innate early abilities.

Not sure yet whether to bet against RR, or simply enjoy the show!

Due to the hype on RR, you should have a built in overlay on any other horse you might like. Of course, I lost about 5 times in a row betting against Zenyatta before I got it all back and then some on Blame.

Whatever you do, good luck Ted.

I would have played on your printouts if the 4 was 6-1 or better. I am surprised he is at 7-2. Pulling for you.

I guess they just refuse to go with him early. Jocks on the 2 and 6 were pulling hard holding their horses back in the 1st qtr of the race.

Congratulations to RR! #4 was 5-1 when I bet. I still think it was a sound wager decision, presuming the #6 would be more aggressive early. For my peace of mind, I have to presume everyone was trying their best ...

Is there still time in 2011 for one more race for RR, shooting for the single year record? LOL

Perhaps they were. I would not suggest watching the replay and focusing on the 2 and 6, for your piece of mind in the 1st qtr of the race.

Smarty Jones would be a triple crown winner if the jocks rode the Belmont in such a manner as was done in this race.
