Far Right might be something special

Here is the chart from yesterday's Southwest at Oaklawn and his PPs prior to that race. Never seems to miss a power move. 8--8-4-1, 8-8-4-1 in last two. Looks like he got stopped in the Delta Downs Jackpot while making his move.

Not sure what is going on with the track at OP. I know I have seen some normal fast times in past charts. The sealed nature of the track and very slow time I tend to believe are caused by the track composition, otherwise Mr. Z would have wolfed them all down. Mr. Z ran a neck off 1.40.4 at Alamitos and has a couple of other much faster races.

In any event, hope these horses find a legitimate speed surface to showcase what they can do prior to the Derby because if they don't it will be a really tough MatchUp exercise.

Bill

weather has been bad at OP and the track was closed for a few days...running times seem to be slower than they normally run

Maybe not so much

I tend to subscribe to the notion that the hallmark of the Thoroughbred is speed and the classical champion is ability to carry one's speed over classical distances.
From the chart and the times of this race, the surface was deep and slow. Anything except Lucas' horse that ran early or tried to press tired badly.
I would suggest that the horse to watch out of this race is Lucas's horse. The winner and place horses are slow horses and greatly benefited from the surface. Without a replay of those conditions, I don't think you can cash any tickets on them in the future. This may mean that the Derby winner will come out of New York, Florida or Southern California. Although I would bet Lucas' horse runs huge in the Arkansas Derby off this effort.

Do I assume correctly that you mean Mr Z the 11 horse or did you mean the 2 Majestico - both are Lukas horses?
