Blind Squirrel

Certainly some Blind Squirrel action today in the 7th at Parx.

Had what I considered to be a dominant early runner in the 1A leading comfortably into the stretch. Thought I was going to be okay but the fractions were too fast and as does frequently happen with these types, the 1A folded. I was about to turn away from the race and concede defeat when out of the clouds the entry mate saves the day with a sustained run. So, Up, Down, Up! At 5-1.

With all the things that can go against you in any race I took the $13.20 to the bank as a win. I recorded it as if the 1A had held on and will keep my little nut that I overturned in spite of myself.

Nice win Pook, congrats.

That happens with entries along with the best part of the entry scratching and then the other wins at much better odds. They all count.

Entry

Nice Pook

I think I have told this here before but,
When I first started with the methodology, I place a bet on a 1-1A entry and another horse. for kicks, let's say it was horse 4 (it's always the 4)
I had win bets on the 1-4 and an exacta box 1-4
I was at the Meadowlands
This was the last race of the either Garden State
or Atlantic City so I was watching the race on the TV monitors

anyway I had a similar experience, The hard 1 and the 4 were running 1-2
down the stretch. I was so happy. I had it all no matter what.
But another horse was closing fast This other horse my 1 and 4 all hit the wire at the same time, But...

Another horse was also closing but it was on the outside rail. So near the inside rail was a 3 horse photo and a 4th horse on the other rail. It was crazy The "other horse" on the outside rail was,?
You guessed it it was the 1A.

It was crazy, nobody knew what the call would be
After a long look at the photo, The entry dead heated : eek: and the 4 and the other horse dead-heated for place It was a double dead heat : cool:

I was asking everybody around what it meant cause I had the dead heat winner and a 1-4 exacta

I got paid I just was wondering around laughing and asking what the heck that was, That was the first time I met Joe Beard. Eventually Joe and I hung around together at the table for many years with Richie P
