Hong Kong Racing

In the last couple weeks have been looking for info on their
Racing there,I know weird pp's,5 classes of horses,an all weather surface,
that is actually just dirt. But there is some serious bombs there.

To the point, someone is giving out some live horses there.
Looked at there last 3 days, and if one quinella boxed the top 3
picks you could of have made some cash.just curious what someone
else can determine, how well they hold up.jockey club link,+ you tube picks.

Hong kong

I have been dabbling in foreign racing over the last few weeks. I use the free site racing and sports.com they have several ratings for each horse. You have to register but that is free. They handle pretty much the top countries outside the U.S.

I work and bet Hong Kong every day it runs. If you use others selections/tips, like any presumably coherent methodology, you have to model them, track them, see if they work for how you want to bet. You have to decide when to bet and when NOT to bet. Which pool to bet in, whether to Dutch your bets, straight box them, part-wheel them, etc.

Since I had July 1 handy, I plugged in that YouTube link's 3-horse/race selections into my tracking spreadsheet, shown below. Upper section is Results, Prices and Closing Odds. Lower section is that site's 3-horse picks and results across the various pools on offer in North America. (NOTE: the selections are not my selections, they are the YouTube site you mentioned).

On this day, they had precisely 1 Quinella hit (Race 8). Maybe other days are better.

Be sure you understand how Mutuel Prices are reported. The HKJC reports prices as payouts to HK$10. The numbers below are payouts to US$1 (just divide by 10). If you check North American ADW prices they are to US$2. For example, the Race 8 Quinella paid HK$227.50 for each HK$10 bet, or $HK.22.75 for each HK$1 bet (or US$1 bet).

My Win accounting is based on a 3-horse Dutch when the payout exceeds my minimum threshold (e.g. 40%). That site had 6 of 10 Wins in Top 2 on that day, so perhaps a Dutch based on Top 2 selections would be profitable - I didn't bother checking. E.g. 60% on lower odds and 40% on higher odds at bet time (or vice versa ).

Omni is a wager where, for example, for a 3-horse box on the 3 selections, you get paid 3 possible ways: 1+2, 1+3, 2+3 (i.e. if any of your horses finish in any of those positions).

Like any tout or subscription service or participative syndicate scenario where you are not creating your own selections - caveat emptor! Though some may work, I have found it more satisfying and reliable (and becoming more stably profitable, though it can be a 'ride') to do my own work (tote analysis method).

There are lots of sources of Daily tips on Hong Kong: the South China Morning Post tipsters, the on-track commentators, the Youtube site mentioned. You can try selections near post-time by 'Nitro' at PaceAdvantage for Sunday racing (Saturday overnight) in his Hong Kong Selections Forum thread. (Just for clarity, I don't post - or sell - selections, nor is this based on the Sartin Methodology, so I don't talk about it much here.)

Good luck Peteman and Charlie!

Ted

There was some talk at one time that NYRA was thinking about introducing the omni. The omni would have been perfect for Jim Bradshaw. He was always complaining that his horses would usually finish 1-3 whenever he tried to bet the exacta.

Thanks Ted And Gandalf, for the info.after looking at a few days results, more closely
I would not Quinella box the top 3 selections. form these picks.so looked at 29 races
the number 1 choice had 8 wins@ odds of 5-1,4-1,4-1,3-1,6-1,9-1.
the Number 2 Choice had 6 wins@ odds of 5-2,5-2,6-1,4-1,4-1,7-1.
The number 3 choice had 0 winners.

So Ted your idea of a dutch on the top 2 looks sound, but who knows how things
will hold up,with this unknown selector, and his method.
The season ends there in a couple weeks, and will have time for research, thanks.
