Thanks

Ted,I didnt know where to put this but while I dont agree with how RDSS testing is being distributed[although now that Bill and Richie explained it to me I understand] you should also be thanked for making Val 4 available to us.Although I dont use it as my primary way of capping it has been a excellant corrollary.Just by using it like Forego and keeping it simple by the VDC screen its been doing quite well. Thanks and happy fathers day.Jeff

Yes Ted, I too thank you for the gratis, updated version of Validator.

Best regards,

Jon

Jeff, you are most welcomed and thanks for the note. It's too bad it took so long to get Val4 circulated, but thanks to Doc for giving his approval.

I'm not sure I know what your view is on the testing of RDSS, or what troubles you, but I'm happy to explain my point of view on anything. Basically, I thought it would make for a stonger product if it were tested in public, by a variety of users with different computers and different approaches, rather than if one day I just announced: it's ready. At the same time, I can only correspond with so many people at once (and still be productive) and I cringe at some of the old, clunky bits which we still have to put up with on RDSS while I rewrite them and don't wish to subject too many new testers to them.

Also, in general, I had wanted to express thanks to purchasers of Speculator who had helped support this project by giving them first dibs if they wanted, but actually I mostly say 'sure' to anyone who just asks to help do some reasonably serious testing. And, naturally, when it gets bullet-proofed enough and all the must-do features get added, then anyone who wants can use it

Don't know if that added anything to Bill and Richie's viewpoints, but, if you ever want to give RDSS a go, just let me know.

yours,

Ted

Ted,That's pretty much what they told me and what you added now I understand the reasoning for the small sampling. Thanks for the offer to try but I dont think I would do you any good.Besides I wouldnt want to waste your time and maybe take up a spot for someone who would be more valuable in the testing.Good luck with RDSS.Jeff
