Question Match Up 2

Rich: You have got to talk Jim into another limited run of the book. Then you, me and Jim can go into business on Ebay! Tell Jim we will give him the biggest cut - have you seen what these books are going for? We'll keep doing limited runs to keep the price up.

If as you read on the PA board, the book was so confusing and unclear, why are folks paying $100 to be confused?! You and I know why.

The match up is BY FAR, once you get it, the BEST thing that could happen to any handicapper. To this day, I have a hard time understanding why it is such a difficult concept to grasp. It is as simple as his old statement (to parapharse it): "Pace is easy. One horse goes out and the others chase it. If they can't catch him, he wins."

K.I.S.S. my gosh it is simple.

Hi Lou
Jim called this happening (book going for ridiculous prices) to me over a year ago. Unfortunately it appears there will be no more copies.

Couple of things please to folks still looking to get a copy:
1) I have been contacted by a gentleman privately and will be GIVEN his copy around the end of April to distribute as I see fit. This man KNOWS what the book is getting on Ebay but does NOT want to go that route. He wants to share without taking advantage. If you are interested contact me privately and we will see if we can get him something for his trouble. If he won't take cash then maybe a donation to a good charity etc ok? This man oozes GOODNESS.

2) Anyone really wanting to learn Jim's way does NOT have to get the book at crazy prices. Go to the Hat Check area here and find and download his 5 step approach. He gave that to US here and it is the cornerstone of the book.

Start there and then read posts up to but NOT "the 8 month update" thread I started. That will confuse you and should only be read after matching horses/races for at least 8 months ok? Trust me.

FOCUS on the 5 step approach. Read it. Work it.Absorb it. Then take 2 weeks and apply the procedures learned to live races. See how you do and make notes of questions, good results, lost races etc.

Then post up questions you have in the Hat Check. Don Parente (Don P.) has been hand taught by Hat and hopefully will chime in with some advice.

I am on a break from working races full time. Burnt out and fed up with losing races that 6 months ago I would have eaten for breakfast man. No mas.

However if you NEED my help with something and have put forth effort on your own contact me privately. I will help you. There will NEVER be a charge/fee

Here is the link for the 5 step approach. Consider my suggestions before going out and getting taken advantage of on Ebay and elsewhere. SINCERE folks who want to learn Jim Bradshaw's matchup concepts do NOT need to buy his book. The book and much more are right here in Jim's "Hat Check" area for FREE.

P.S. - Lou that was a damn nice presentation on that Santa Anita race before it ran amigo. I agree with Bill it was a tremendous workup and result.THANK YOU for giving back man.

No Book But Maybe a online video

Hello Rich: No books will be put in print. But a online video of the book's methods. Going through step by step, the Match-up methods. Downloadable for a price. Maybe a website that has people showing their take on the match-up. Then Jim and other's can get some of the rewards that E-bay sellers are getting, from his life long, ground breaking work. I have the book. But could not sell it at any price, out of the respect for the author. Just a idea..Chrisl...

Morning Chris
An excellent idea and one which I will relay to Hat today.

In about a month we will have 2 or 3 copies of the book available to "matchers" wanting to read Jim's book.

They will be available on a "lend for 30 - 60 days and return" basis. All that is asked is that the book be returned in the condition it was sent.

There will be NO charge for this. I would suggest instead of a charge that the new reader does a good deed or act of kindness for someone in his/her hometown. That would be very cool and something that Hat would be proud of.

Teacher Dan
Ted Craven
and myself will supply the books for "lend, read and return" at the outset. Thanks guys for your most generous offer!

Enough of this ripoff Ebay crap man. You just starting out and want to learn about the Matchup and read Jim's new book without getting fleeced?

We got you covered here at Bill Varone's Pace and Cap site!

Just a follow up on the lend, read, return mentioned above.

I'm on the phone with Jim right now reading him this thread. He thinks it's a good idea and approves. He especially likes the "doing a good thing for someone in return" .

We have his blessing to do this.

As I posted recently at Pace Advantage, and as Richie has stated above, owning The Match Up 2 book is really not necessary. I own a copy (eBay $63) and I have observed that virtually the entire contents of the book is posted in the Hat Check area...word-for-word in most cases. Certainly all the critical information is available for free within that forum. The primary material missing would be the examples used in the book. However, in my opinion, Richie's examples in the forum are better because they are more illustrative than those in the book. Follow Richie's recommendations above.

If you still want to spend some of your money anyhow I recommend making a donation to Pace and Cap so that you may obtain access to the Club Pace and Cap forum, which is a "members only" area. In this private area you will find access to the original Match Up manual, the "red" manual, for free. You will also get access to hundreds of hours of free audio seminars. The sessions with Mr. Bradshaw are especially great and informative. To hear The Hat work a race is quite impressive and helped me gain tremendous insights into applying The Match Up. Also, I'm not connected with this site in any way other than being an appreciative member.

By the way, eBay is not a rip-off. It's called supply and demand. It simply illustrates that there is considerable demand for the book. That's the beauty of an auction system; the item sells for whatever someone is willing to pay for it. If they're willing then how can it be a ripoff? I know I was very happy when I got my copy...even at $63. And no, I'm not connected with eBay either.

Richie, if you (or whomever) gets the video project going and need help with the preparation of any static images used in the presentation, let me know. I am a capable graphic artist and would be glad to contribute.

Also Richie, there's a question I posted about The Match Up 2 book in the Hat Check area awhile back. You asked at that time for me to be patient. I was just wondering if five weeks was patient enough? Here's that link:

http://scott.asmallorange.com/~binde...ead.php?t=3462

I have more questions about the book but was planning on posing them one at a time, chronologically as presented within the book. But at this rate, I'm afraid I will go to my grave with unanswered Match Up questions and that might be a sin so I'm sure you can understand my concern.
